Are the notes useful for veterinary professionals in other countries outside the U.S.?
Our notes have been purchased in 82 different countries and have an average of 5 stars on reviews.
All the notes are based on U.S. education and U.S. pharmaceuticals used and diseases most commonly encountered.
That being said, the types of differences you may expect to find are:
1. Variations in infectious diseases encountered.
2. Types of drugs available may vary for prophylactic care (such as flea/tick/heartworm medications offered). But most anesthesia, sedation and pain medications are generally the same.
Newer available medications will also vary. The U.S. drug regulations take a long time and the U.S. often lags behind Europe for approving certain drugs.
3. How we measure analytes on our labwork and measure temperatures is different.
The U.S. uses the metric system to calculate drugs. However, we measure body temperature in Fahrenheit . We measure most analytes in mg/L not mmol/L for example.
